7.Campus Feature News

  Southern Arkansas University teamed up with Tacos 4 Life and FMSC (Feed My Starving Children) to help donate 116,640 meals. This will feed 320 children for an entire year. This event was organized by SAU's Volunteer Coordinator, Katie Heese. She made this event part of the freshman orientation known as Mulerider Round-Up. She was able to get over 730 volunteers to help donate meals.  The donated meals packed by Muleriders will be sent across the world and will make a life-saving impact in a child's life. Volunteering during freshman orientation introduces SAU's mission of becoming effective citizens and fostering the service of the environment. 6. Campus Crime

  At Bowie State University there were two people shot on campus during their Homecoming festivities. The Bowie State University police got a call around 11:45 p.m. about shots fired around the area of Henry Circle. The two people shot, were two 19-year-old boys. Neither one of the two were actually students at Bowie State University. The two men were rushed to the hospital, neither one of them have died from their injuries. The college says that the shootings at Morgan State University are not linked to the shootings at Bowie State University. The shooting at Bowie State University is still under investigation by the Maryland State Police, assisted by the Bowie State Police Department. 5. Hometown Feature News

The City of Crossett is introducing the "Doggy Day Out" program. This is being set up by The Crossett Canine Rescue organization and its volunteers. This gives the dogs at the pound a chance to get out to another environment, and to get out of the pound for at least a day. This also gives the dogs and future pet owners a chance to socialize with each other. 4. Hometown Hard News

      On October 1st around 5 p.m. The Jacksonville Police department was contacted about a shooting. The shooting took place around Terriwood Apartments at 218 S J P Wright Loop Rd. When police arrived on the scene, they found a black male with a gunshot wound in his leg. A couple of days later a man by the name of Aaron Daniels would turn himself in for the crime he committed. An investigation started where Daniels was marked as a prime suspect with a BOLO alert being sent out.
