1. Defining News

 News is everything that is happening in the world. News can be shown to people through various different ways. Through social media, television, and even people talking around you. 

    Hard news stories are what I mostly think about when I hear the word News. Some examples of hard news stories are murder, war, and politics. A recent example of hard news is a boat carrying 180 Rohingya refugees vanished. A frantic phone call helped untangle the mystery. | AP News. There are so many other types of news that I come across each day without really realizing that it is news. For example, looking at my phone and seeing a certain player got traded to another sports team is news. Getting an email from SAU letting me know certain events that are happening around campus. Just talking with my friends about certain news that have heard and discussing it.

    The great thing about news is that you are always surrounded by it. Nowadays with social media and the internet in general, you can always be updated on any topic. No matter where you go, you will always be hearing and learning new things because of news. The best way I can define news is information we receive that can be good or bad.

  I am critiquing Jamar's blog because of how well all his work is done and how organized his work is. I actually have taken some motivation from his work to make mine better. One thing that impresses me most about his blog is his organization and how he shows a picture of each story he posts. I think his selection for his cover photos are done perfectly and makes the reader want to click and read the story.  I also would like to appreciate the grammar he uses during his blog posts. Jamar's ability to have a good vocabulary and good grammar makes his posts seem more professional.  I would also say that it impressed me how he was able to finish all 20 stories in such a short time. None of the stories look like they are rushed to be finished. Something I would change to his website is maybe switching up the style or the font of a couple of the stories just so it doesn't look repetitive and has a flare to it....

10. Listening Post

  A listening Post is a place where news is shared amongst people. For example, the college campus, coffee shops, and just being at your house can be a listening post.  For me personally, my listening post is my friend's house back home. My 3 friends and I all go to different colleges. So, when we all come back home, we share everything we have done and all the news that happened at our schools. Some news being boring and some news being crazy. We talk about certain policies that certain schools have that we don't like. We also talk about things such as why our schools are better than the others.  Another listening post for me is my dorm on campus. I'll invite some friends over and we will discuss things that happened here on campus. Whether that be a certain event coming up or just what happened in our days.  One more listening post for me is my house back home. 4. Hometown Hard News

      On October 1st around 5 p.m. The Jacksonville Police department was contacted about a shooting. The shooting took place around Terriwood Apartments at 218 S J P Wright Loop Rd. When police arrived on the scene, they found a black male with a gunshot wound in his leg. A couple of days later a man by the name of Aaron Daniels would turn himself in for the crime he committed. An investigation started where Daniels was marked as a prime suspect with a BOLO alert being sent out.
